Château Tanesse

Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux rouge

Located on a high hillock among Langoiran’s sloping vineyards, this Bordeaux charterhouse was built during the second half of the 18th century by the Tanesse family. The property is surrounded by 30 hectares of vineyard atop very old foundations. Overlooking Langoiran’s medieval 13th-century castle, a magnificent panoramic view stretches from the edge of the Sauternais to the outskirts of Bordeaux while following the meanders of the Garonne River.

The product of an exceptional terroir, the red wines of Château Tanesse are characterized by their deep colour, their aromas of black fruit and a touch of particularly fine tannins.

A.O.C : Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux rouge

District : Langoiran

Vineyard surface area : 30 hectares

Terroir : Gravelly and clayey-gravelly slopes atop a calcareous subsoil

Grape varieties : 55% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc

Average vine age : 25 years

Viticulture : Traditional Bordeaux-style vine training, with two canes and a flat arch. Controlled grassing-down of the vine rows or mechanical working of the soil, to improve the soils’ vitality and biodiversity. Manual “green pruning”, for a homogeneous distribution and proper aeration of the grape bunches. Mechanical grape harvesting.
Sustainable farming methods are applied to the entire vineyard, which
enjoys HVE3 (“High Environmental Value”) certification.

Vinification : Destemming, crushing and vatting. Fermentation in stainless-steel, temperature-controlled tanks. The terroir’s quality allows for prolonged maceration to extract tannins of wonderful subtlety.

Ageing : 12 months in French-oak barrels.

Tasting notes :
Dark, very deep red in colour. This wine offers complex ripe black fruit aromas and a really well-balanced woodiness. Silky, mineral and velvety, it is also remarkably long in the mouth. This elegant wine boasts an exceptional ageing potential.
