The conversion to organic agriculture of a portion of our vineyards testifies to our firm commitment to and respect for the environment. The ecological practices put in place also act as references for the day-to-day operations carried out throughout our estate.
The organically cultivated site overlooks the Garonne River and covers 200 hectares. The wine thus produced is marketed under Château Laurétan, an estate acquired in 2004 by Eric and Philippe Gonfrier. The 2013 vintage was the first organically certified vintage for Château Laurétan. Each year, audits carried out by independent bodies guarantee that the vineyard respects the demanding standards which must be met for organic certification (the “AB” label in France). Respecting the American equivalence of this AB certification allows us to sell Château Laurétan with the NOP (National Organic Program) label.
A top-quality terroir combined with these environmentally- and vine-friendly practices allow us to obtain an exceptionally subtle wine offering silky, tight tannins, with wonderful freshness and minerality.
